Namita Thapar
Chartered accountant turned Shark who learned Creole just to follow the family gossip, and will happily hike three hours in pouring rain for some 'nature therapy.'
Namita is a Pune-based founder (Arth by Emcure), a Shark on Shark Tank India, and a Duke MBA with a CA's rigor. She pairs it with a goofy, pun-loving streak: she made a whole post because people kept typing 'Earth' instead of 'Arth.' She is fiercely clear about how people should be treated, pushes hard for women's financial independence, and would rather tell you to fix your sleep than sell you gummies. Under the big public platform is someone who is family-rooted, nostalgic about Mauritian street food, and honest enough to admit she needed help getting past her 'awkwardness' about dancing.
She states her relationship standard plainly. Someone who loves you appreciates all of you, and anyone who trashes you should be left immediately.
- in“If someone loves you, they will find everything about you beautiful & for gods sake if they are busy trashing u, dump them TODAY, you deserve better!”
Financial and emotional independence is a core belief for her. A partner has to treat her autonomy as a given, not something to negotiate.
- in“the day a woman gets financially independent, she becomes emotionally independent to fight her wars”
She publicly thanks her critics and builds her brand on straight talk. Real feedback will earn her respect faster than compliments.
- in“if there is any feedback on my products, I promise to humbly listen & correct if need be 🙏”
- IG“Though we sell melatonin gummies, our goal is to correct your sleep routine, so you don't need our gummies !”
She is a Shark with huge followings on both platforms, and even her trips double as brand storytelling.
- in“My Arth Travels series... shows me integrating every product with pride in my lifestyle”
- IG“Shark @ Shark Tank India”
Mauritius is her 'second home,' and she went as far as learning a language to be part of the family chatter.
- IG“I learned Creole just so I could understand the family gossip being spoken by them 🤪”
- in“visiting Mauritius feels like going to my second home”
Despite her packed career, she campaigns openly against multitasking culture and for better sleep.

- IG“Make sure to sync w nature in some form this weekend :)”
- Rainy-day hikingGets outdoors whatever the weather. She calls it therapy, not exercise.

- Base
- Pune, Maharashtra, India
- Pace
- Fast and always building, with deliberate pauses for sleep and nature
- Social
- Very public-facing, with a big, chatty extended family in Mauritius
- Travel
- Frequent trips that often double as brand storytelling. Mauritius is her second home, and she enjoys heritage stays like Falaknuma Palace
- Health
- Rainy-day hiking, sleep advocacy, a daily supplement routine, and a preference for home-cooked food
- Work / life
- Deeply blended. Her lifestyle is part of her brand. Recently left her Executive Director role at Emcure (Feb 2026) to focus on Arth
- Talks like
- Energetic, blunt and warm. Lots of exclamation marks, emojis, '&' and 'u,' and easy Hinglish ('Ghar ka khana,' 'Marathi mulgi'). She says what she thinks ('for gods sake'), loves a pun, and expects the same frankness back.
- Shows care by
- She nudges the people she cares about toward wellbeing ('sync w nature in some form this weekend'), gives effusive public thanks ('ur my OG teacher... I love you lots !!'), and goes to real effort to belong, like learning Creole for family gossip.
- Takes criticism humbly and publicly thanks her critics
- Admits her insecurities, like her 'awkwardness & biases around dancing'
- Tells customers they may not even need her product
- Laughs at herself and doesn't mind looking silly
- Loyal over the long haul: nearly two decades in one role
- Champions other women instead of competing with them
- Her schedule is packed and public. Much of life is on camera or turned into content
- Work and life blur, so even vacations can become campaigns
- Her bluntness can land hard if you're sensitive to direct feedback
- She is used to recognition and high performance, and may expect a partner with matching drive
- She is in a career transition, so her energy may be heavily focused on Arth right now
- Anyone who belittles or 'trashes' her
- Discomfort with her independence or financial success
- Dishonesty or putting image over substance
- Pulling other people, especially women, down
- Glorifying hustle at the expense of health and rest
Someone secure and self-driven who is genuinely unintimidated by a very public, very successful woman, and who cheers her new chapters on. They'd be frank and warm, quick with banter, happy to hike in the rain or share a home-cooked meal, and eager to join a big, chatty Mauritian family gathering.
- A monsoon hike in the hills around Pune, ending with hot home-cooked food, no fancy restaurant
- A street-food crawl where she explains dalpuri and gateau piment and you share your own childhood food haunts
- A Ganeshotsav celebration or a beginner's dance class together, where laughing at each other's awkwardness is the whole point
- How much Creole family gossip did she actually decode once she learned it?
- The 'Earth vs Arth' problem: what other puns has she got in reserve?
- What she learned from Dr Mary Ann Muckaden about palliative care and patient activism
- What's next for her now that Emcure has wrapped and Arth has her full attention?
